Each bag in this limited series is a dream stitched into fabric — a one-of-a-kind piece, born from vintage upholstery, adorned with playful fringes, and held by the gentle curve of a bamboo handle. The front and back tell different stories, like pages from two different summers, bound together into one.
This is why the collection is called Janua — a feminine reimagining of Janus, the Roman god with two faces, guardian of beginnings and thresholds. Just like him, these bags carry a dual identity: each side different, yet part of a single whole. But unlike Janus, Janua is entirely female — from concept to creation. It’s a name that reflects a project imagined by a woman and brought to life in a workshop of women, where learning, craft, and self-expression come together.
The collection draws from many inspirations: the golden hush of an Italian afternoon, the vibrant colors of sun-flooded days, and the quiet sophistication of summer nights. It carries with it the soul of interiors once cherished — textures that once dressed rooms, now wrapped around memories yet to be made. The bamboo, warm and light, speaks of nature, of calm, of grace.
These are not just bags — they are time travelers. They don’t belong to a season or a trend. They could have danced through the 1950s, lingered in the 1990s, or simply be yours today. Like the vintage objects we love — worn, loved, and filled with echoes — these bags hold a sense of something that came before, and something still to come.
And the most delicate thread in their making is human. Each one was created by young women from the Caritas sewing workshop in Modena — a space of learning, of self-expression, of quiet strength. Here, sewing becomes a gentle rebellion against haste, a way to honor the time, the hands, the heart behind every piece.
